Junior Boys – Begone Dull Care

Junior Boys came out with a new album this year. I downloaded it a few months back and for some reason never listened to it. Today it popped up in my itunes and glad it did. It’s got some really good tracks, but I will always think “In the Morning” will be their best.

The Making of The Pixies’ “Minotaur” – The Artwork

Catch a glimpse of the artwork as it is being reinterpreted by graphic designer, Vaughn Oliver. These five classic covers all receive a dramatic reinterpretation for “Minotaur” and how they are created says a great deal about the passion that Oliver has for these projects.
Minotaur will be available for pre-order at www.ainr.com beginning Monday, June 15, 2009.
Five classic Pixies releases are going to be reissued as both Limited Edition and Deluxe Edition collector’s sets

You Don’t Know Money Like I Know Money…

Andrei Arshavin of Arsenal

This goes out to all the bandwagon, err I mean ‘hardcore’ NBA fans I seem to come across these days.

“The English Premier League and the NBA are exploring a marketing and commercial tie-up that would draw on the strengths of the world’s two most popular sports leagues as they expand into new international markets.”

“Representatives from the football and basketball organizations have met in London to discuss how they might work together. They have also compared notes on their respective media rights strategies – particularly in Asia, which is a huge and still largely untapped market for western sport.

David Stern NBA commissioner said: “We are unapologetic imitators. The Premier League’s ability to negotiate their [media] deals and the way they split their packages [of media rights]… is something we can learn from.”

The NBA is in the first year of a $7.4bn, eight-year deal with Walt Disney’s ESPN and ABC networks and Time Warner’s TNT channel.

The Premier League, by contrast, recently negotiated a new UK broadcasting deal with British Sky Broadcasting and Setanta worth £1.8bn ($2.8bn) over three years. It is also close to announcing a new international rights deal, with its current contract worth £650m.

“The Premier League has been a bit ahead of us,” Mr Stern said, pointing to the Russian, American and Middle Eastern investors that have bought into English clubs.

XV x 55DSL

55DSL has been doing tons of collaborations to celebrate “Fifteen Fucking Years”.
The two things I have found that I like are a T-shirt collaboration from Beams T and this Fifteen Feet Undere video by Vasava. Take a look at both. Visit their site www.55dsl.com to view all the collaborations and contests they have going on. Make sure to check out the fun section they have a cool whack-a-mole game as well.

The Bright Collaboration

Ladies! My favorite fitting jeans and my favorite nail polish have teamed up for this summer’s huge trend: bright colored denim! Paige Adams-Geller, creator and designer of Paige Premium denim has collaborated with OPI nail polish to put together The Bright Pair Collection which features 6 pairs of matching denims and polishes! My favorite skinny jeans can now perfectly match my nail polish?

Brilliant.

The six hues include:

  • Over the Taupe — mushroom
  • On the Same Paige — orangey red (my personal favorite!)
  • In My Back Pocket — bright orange
  • A Grape Fit! — rich purple
  • No Room For the Blues — vivid blue
  • Shorts Story — hot pink

New mixes from DJ Neoteric

Dj Neoteric from Vancouver is always busy spreading his mixing style from city to city or all over the internet. The reason why he is one of my favorite DJ’s is because I have seen him mix just about every genre music out there. He currently dropped some solid mixes on his website as well as an upcoming tour schedule. Go to his website www.djneoteric.com for full details.

He has been doing a series of mixes called “White Light.” This is number V in the series. His last one was and still is heavy on my ipod rotation. This one will sure to be as well.

Animal Collective x Dam-Funk

Animal Collective

Animal Collective

I stumbled across this absolutely mesmerizing tune today, “Summertime Clothes”. Animal Collective, hailing from Baltimore, really reminds me of the Beach Boys & The Beatles mixed with some 80s horror pop. It’s great stuff.

Animal Collective – Summertime Clothes

Dam-Funk

Dam-Funk

What Dam-Funk does with this track is amazing. The high pitched lead synth really caught my attention. Then he keeps it grooving and pushing with a little down-pitched techno clap. This dude is pretty damn legit, straight gangster!

A Visit to the House Jack Built…

Earlier today I was going through some of my recorded sets on our iRiver recorder, only to find them either A. not recorded at all, or B. completely over-saturated because the levels were too high. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!

I thought all was doomed, but after putting my thinking cap on I decided to go digging through the archives, and I was able to find a set that I had never posted! So for now, check this out and pass it along to all your friends!!!!!!

Art Show – All my friends are drunk or dead

Clifford Lidell has switched things up recently and begun a new project. Currently he is expressing himself through a new art form and is having a heavily supported art show for everyone to view or purchase his works. Don’t miss out on these early works. Literally everything this man touches turns into gold.
