Empire of the Sun

This band is blowing up the blogosphere with numerous tracks and remixes.  Many people are considering them a MGMT knock off but I think their sound will be able to transcend into so many realms of melodies and choruses that MGMT might not be able to reach.

I have been sleeping on them for a bit.  This whole week they kept popping into my life so I decided to share this video.
Lately I have been feeling like I have been walking in a dream.

Daft Punk v Adam Freeland

In honor of our RHYTHM IN THE WHITE HOUSE party last night, we printed up a limited number of commemorative tee’s to celebrate not only the night, but also the inauguration of President-Elect Barack Obama. We still have a few left in stock for $10.00, so if you would like to rock this bad boy to show everyone how down with the underground you are, just drop us a line. Check out the image below.

Socialism vs. Capitalism

Shepherd Fairey of Studio One and founder of Obey, the man who told you to “Obey the Giant” and most recently gave you “Hope” during the recent presidential campaign is now focusing on moving you into Saks to spend your money. He stays within his design and concept box most of the time but he executes each of his “movements” with precision. All the blogs I have been reading have different opinions.
New York Times
The Fader
PSFK
Remember he runs a company and every company operates with a profit or loss statement.
We would all take Saks money as well as anyone elses to reload our bank accounts.

Gleaming the Cube

Here’s an idea for our boy Ralph who is heading out to Thailand in order to spread the good word and the good seed — why not kill some time solving a rubik’s cube? I’ve always loved rubik’s cube and I guarantee it will take some time off that 19 hour flight!!

If solving the cube doesn’t tickle your fancy, then maybe you can create a mosaic like the one I came across, or just throw it against the wall in frustration and wait for the Federal Air Marshall’s on board to take you down.

Trip to the future

A trip to Bangkok, Thailand is on my horizon and if you know me at all you know I really don’t like flying. This flight is going to be a nice nineteen hour journey. I have been scouring the internet to find ways to kill the time and besides the most logical choices such as xanax and some sleeping pills. The only ones that make the most sense are some books and my Ipod. Looking at the small screen of my Ipod doesn’t seem like fun to me.
I found these “Captain EO” looking glasses but can’t figure out if it’s worth laying down the loot for these. When I went to the actual retail outlets that sell these none of them had a display model. Not a smart marketing move.
Look for yourself are they worth buying for my little trip? MYVU.com

God’s house… $50 or more

Famed evolutionary biologist and bestselling atheist, Richard Dawkins, has just launched a £140,000 advertising campaign in an attempt to convince British atheist’s to “come out.” The slogan doubting God’s existence is to be seen on buses across the UK, the tube, and screens in central London and will read — “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.”

Strange Overtones

This song has been stuck in my head for days. It’s not new, pitchfork and all the big boys have blogged about it.
It’s the work of Brian Eno and David Byrne.
Do some research on wiki to find out what its all about.
Take the time. You are not too busy. Lazy people don’t look to educate themselves. Then when you are done research the director of the video. Seriously you will enjoy it.
