These guys are bringin the funk from Copenhagen, Denmark! Every song i’ve heard by them is genius! Awesome disco-esque melodies with really funky grooves. They are obviously influenced by MJ, but I really like their stlye. Enjoy these videos and mp3s!

Recap of P.B.N.P. and MUTE Fridays with Colossal KNXN!!

It was another exciting night at PRIM BUT NOT PROPER! Lots of martinis, jager bombs and birthday shots went around for socialite Brittany Sleeth’s birthday! DJ LEGIT and ROCKBERRY always know how to work a crowd and kept the dance floor moving all night long!

It’s always a party and guaranteed hangover saturday morning when we have our monthly residents and good friends Colossal KNXN at Mute Fridays!! These two know how to keep the place going til the very end! As always they tore up the dance floor, we sold out of champagne bottles and the shots were never ending!! If you didn’t make it out you missed a crazy night!!

A-trak interview from Karmaloop

A-trak talks about a collaboration with Armand Van Helden called Duck Sauce. Definitely looking forward to that.

Found a quick clip on Youtube for the Duck Sauce project.

Divine Mother Zebrass

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

LA producer Divine Mother Zebrass dropped “Rain Forest” a few months back and it found its way into heavy rotation on my ipod. Now he has just dropped another track “Jock Jelly”. Slowly but surely I am pretty sure you will see him start to make his mark on the So-Cal scene.

B.O.B and Blitz the ambassador

Two very good tracks and videos by B.O.B. with “Put me on” and Blitz the ambassador with “Breathe”.
I happen to watch the videos back to back and noticed a common theme. They both have a person with a boombox a.k.a ghettoblaster on their head. It doesn’t take anything away from me liking the actual songs but wonder if I can get paid by just copying other producers ideas. I need to get paid too.

Forty seconds into Blitz the Ambassador he drops a lyric ” You need me tired of watching the same video’s throwing remotes at your TV” See if you agree with me on the similarity.

God gave us rhythm

…Bump…Bump…Bump…Bump.

Do you recognize that sound? That’s the heartbeat… the natural rhythm we’ve all had from day one, and the same rhythm that drives me. Deep. Seductive. Nurturing.

House is a feeling… so go ahead and get yo’ feel on.

RYE RYE – BANG

Here is the video for “Bang” by Rye Rye which was directed by M.I.A. One of my favorite producers Blaqstarr produced this track. Rye Rye’s album should be dropping soon. The dancing in this video is exactly what you picture in your mind from B’more.

MJ sampled and shirted

Stumbled across this diagram of how MJ was sampled among all the admiration and tributes going out on the web. Wanted to share it.

The tribute shirts are dropping everywhere. This one over at the NEFF blog is pretty fresh.

Another exciting week!! Recap on PBNP & MUTE Fridays!!

A big thanks to everyone who joined us for another exciting week!

The week began on Thursday. We first stopped by the Caddy Shack Party for free drinks, putting, and good music by THEM JEANS and Wendy City. Then headed over to our newest night PRIM BUT NOT PROPER with our very own Steve Ryback and special guest and good friend TEALONG! Everyone was loving the constant MJ thrown into his set!

It was a busy night all night at Mute Fridays! Thanks to your favorite resident DJ Legit, Chris Santiago dropping his special house set and surprise guest Clifford Lidell who kept the dance floor moving! No one wanted this night to end!

Check out our pics from last week by visiting NEIL SHARUM

Saturday we wanted to support our friends at DIM MAK by dropping by the DIM MAK Pool Party at the Standard in downtown LA. It was a party like we expected and the highlight of the day was when Diplo did a reggae set!
